Derivation of the Stokes–Brinkman problem and extension to the Darcy regime

In this note, we consider the derivation of continuum models for the interactions between a cloud of particles and a viscous fluid. We review recent results on the derivation of so-called Stokes–Brinkman models. We give some insights into analytical tools that are required for such results and discuss a possible extension to the Darcy regime.
