Benchmarking winery production: Developing benchmarks

The strength of benchmarking lies in its comparative measures or metrics. Provisor has developed Winery Benchmarker, a subscription-based Web 2.0 approach to enable wineries to benchmark their performance against eachother. Through benchmarking wineries can identify low-hanging fruit where they can make significant improvements. Recent energy, water and greenhouse gas audits conducted by Provisor have identified that many wine companies are operating well outside industry benchmarks for energy use, water consumption and greenhouse gas production.
