Voyager Estate 2014 MJW Cabernet Sauvignon

Before we get down to the wine at hand, talk to me about North Block 12 and Old Block V9. How did you decide to use those vines as the source for the 98 point MJW Cabernet Sauvignon?These blocks currently produce the best Cabernet Sauvignon fruit we see and the wine is made from a selection of only the best parcels from these vineyards. The Old Block was part of the original 1978 plantings and the North Block was planted in 1995. Planted to the Houghton clone, the vines are grown on uniform stony/gravelly soils with an underlying stone/clay subsoil which the vine roots penetrate deeply into. Both of these organically farmed vineyards display exceptional consistency from year to year and showcase clear vineyard site expression, producing wines with great density and a true sense of place. Both vineyards are certified organic from the 2020 vintage.
