The world of RC is in a con stant state of change. The evolution of model airplanes from simple bits of balsa and tissue propelled by a twisted strand of rubber to today's astonishing scale aircraft and jets has simply been amazing. What has driven this develop ment and continuing improvement has always been the modelers and their drive to fly longer, higher and faster. In the subset of modelers intoxicated with all things scale, the same holds true. The planes have gotten bigger and more impressive and have ultimately given us true jet aircraft; and there is yet another story of evolution. One of the first pioneers in the field of jet aircraft is Bob Fiorenze, born in Brooklyn, NY, and a longtime scale modeler. Now living in Orlando, FL, Bob is an AMA Hall of Fame member and has competed for many years at the AMA Nationals and at the U.S. Scale Masters Championships. We caught up with Bob and talked about his latest Top Gun competition airplane, his electric-powered F-14 Tomcat.
