Prices to increase in coming months despite restrained demand

Russian mills’ low-end prices for CR flats remained stable in February.Like in HR steel segment, mills kept prices unchanged month-on-monthas of the middle of February, but went bullish later on encouraged byexport market improvements. As a result, NLMK and CherMK raisedprices for CR flats stored at consignment warehouses by 1-2%. MetalExpert believes most of the material was sold out in February beforethe price increase. Given that global prices for steel products and rawmaterials began increasing from end-January, trading companies set tobuild stocks ahead of the price rise in the home market.
