New season CAN price out early Germany

The main development this week — amid an otherwise quiet market — has been OCI’s sales of CAN for third-quarter delivery at €170/t cif inland. Although only a small volume, it has been taken by market participants as an early sign of its ambitions for the prestorage price. It represents a €35-45/t reduction from current market prices, and €60/t off current list prices. Other producers report not making any sales so far forward, and seem keen to keep market focus on the current season.
