UK arable crops hit by weather and pesticide withdrawals

As UK arable crop farmers look back on the 2020 season and forward into the New Year they will perceive a trio of trends affecting farming practice and crop production. Weather has clearly been the big leveller in 2020 and especially for small grain cereals. Withdrawal of long standing pesticide products from the marketplace is beginning to bite hard while the uncertainty which still surrounds what the situation will be for agriculture following Britain's exit from EU on 31st January 2020 and end 'Transition Period' on 31st December 2020 during which UK and Europe have been discussing their future relationship including trade.
