GE2270 A(1)is the prototypical member of the GE2270 thiazolyl pep tides,a family of antibiotics produced by Planobispora rosea.The initially proposed structure was revised in 1995 when the stereochemical con figuration was shown to be derived from naturally occurring amino acids.
