摘要

Oxygenated seven-membered carbocycles are a common motif in many natural products, prominent examples being found in the classes of the perhydroazulenes (such as procurcumadiol and (+)-aphanamol I), the guanacastepene diterpenes, or the scabronines, a family of cyathane-type diterpenoids (Scheme 1). These molecules have interesting biological and pharmaceutical properties, and thus much effort has been made towards their asymmetric synthesis.
