摘要

Open-structure clathrate compounds,particularly those of Group 4 elements,have often been sought after for their potential superconductivity.Although only Si,Ge,and Sn clathrates have been synthesized so far,much attention has been paid to the prospective carbon-based clathrate,which has been predicted to be superconducting with a relatively high critical temperature T_c and easily "dopable" with metals and may have potential applications in high-power electronics or field emission.
