African Network for Agroforestry Education - an overview

The African Network for Agroforestry Education (ANAFE) was launched in ApriI1993. Its objective is to strengthen educational institutions in their efforts to incorporate multidisciplinary approaches into land-use education programmes. As of now, the network has 79. members, all of them colleges and universities where agriculture, forestry, livestock sciences and rural development are taught. ANAFE is coordinated from ICRAF through a grant from the Swedish International Cooperation Agency (SIDA). Members of the network meet once every 2 years to decide on policy matters. A steering committee of 10 persons elected from and by the members decides on network activities and evaluates performance of the network.
