摘要

Hexanucleotides may function as aptamer-like very short oligonucleotides. Their specific binding to proteins suggests exploiting them as biological tools and potential pharmaceutical lead compounds. Systematic screening of hexanucleo-tide-protein recognition at high-throughput is possible by a novel array-based platform. This technology considers the complete hexanucleotide sequence space and reveals high target specificity indicated by species-selectively recognizing the highly conserved polymerases of HIV-1 and HIV-2.
