Evaluation of dissolution properties of metal oxides by modeling

Corrosion products of metals comprising of oxidesprotect metals from, corrosion, and it is thought that less solubleand more compact oxide films have higher protection ability. Thisinvestigation developed a model of the kinetics of oxidedissolution by assuming that the transfer of the lattice metal andoxide ions to solution couples to keep the electric neutrality. Themodel reproduced the time changes in the concentrations of metalsdissolved from CuO and magnetite in chelating agent solutionsand the peaking dissolution rate at a pH.
