A field experiment was carried out in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India, during the kharif of 1999 and 2000 on a sandy loam soil to study the effects of inorganic fertilizers, organic manures and Azospirillum on the growth and yield of rainfed sweet potato (cv. Sankar) and on soil productivity. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design with 13 N management practices, replicated thrice.
