Drainage in asia (III): drainage for waterlogging control in South China

摘要

This paper discusses drainage for waterlogging control in South China through the IPTRID China Program which was launched in 1991. The IPTRID, International Program for Technology Research in Irrigation and Drainage, was formally established in 1991 with the broad objective of promoting technology research and development (R&D) in irrigation and drainage assisted by the ICID, UNDP, the World Bank, and other donor countries and organizations. The IPTRID objectives are to provide a framework for collaborative action among developing countries, donors, and research institutions in the assessment, formulation, implementation, and monitoring of priority research projects, and to facilitate training and exchange of information and experiences related to global priorities in irrigation and drainage technology research.
