Re 'Extracranial aneurysm of the posterior inferior cerebellar artery'.

Gokduman and colleagues1 have described a very interesting case of an aneurysm arising from PICA in the spinal subarachnoid space. This case should alert surgeons to the need for laminectomy wherethe aneurysm is extracranial. The authors also claim that, "All 11 reported cases of extracranial PICA aneurysm have involved the distal segment of the PICA." This is not correct. An extracranial, extradural aneurysm of the proximal PICA has been reported previously.
