摘要

These days, an open wood or campfire is a rare sight in our drought-ravaged country, where many local fire authorities have banned campfires due to the risks of out-of-control bushfires. Many national parks and reserves have followed suit after careless campers have haphazardly cut down trees for fires, or have left fires unattended, or abandoned. It all has resulted in open fire bans. The present day camper is now compelled to use other means of cooking. This can't be all bad news as many so-calledchefs don't have a clue about cooking on an open fire. Using a gas stove is much more like cooking in the home kitchen.
