Standards for a safer world

The aim of World Standards Day is to highlight the importance of global Standards to the world economy and to promote their role in helping meet the needs of business, industry, government and consumers worldwide. Each year on 14 October, the members of the three apex international organisations that lead the development and dissemination of International Standards: the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), celebrate World Standards Day.
