It is not uncommon to find tobacco manufacturers gathered together in the middle of a large warehouse surrounded by bales and piles of loose tobacco, fighting for room to stand among crowds of people trying to acquire the highest quality tobacco for the lowest possible price. This can be frequently seen at the opening of auction season; a trade "tradition" in the tobacco industry.rnWhile the tradition holds its own nostalgia, when it comes to buying and processing tobacco, many problems arise for manufacturers and traders. Manufacturers can lose money from the purchase of low quality tobacco from growers, as well as from the incorrect treatment and storage of tobacco throughout the receiving, preprocessing, primary and secondary processing of tobacco.
