Proposed Issues For Consideration In Studies On The Use Of Alternative Materials In Construction

In recent years, the number of papers dealing with the use of alternative materials (formerly waste materials) in construction products has been steadily increasing. The driving forces for this development are the increasing need for raw materials, the difficulty to extract virgin materials and the desire to reduce the amounts of waste going to landfill. All these reasons are valid justifications to explore the possibilities to utilize waste materials beneficially. However, there are limitations as to what is possible for a variety of reasons.
