Attitudes and behaviour towards non-household waste management in the Dublin, Ireland region

Purcell and Magette showed that waste generation (2009) and the attitudes about the management of waste in the residential sector (2010), were spatially variable in the region. A study, reported herein, investigated if this is also true in the non-household sector. If the hypothesis is confirmed this study reasons that the management of BMW (biodegradable municipal waste) can be better accomplished by targeting site-specific intervention strategies than by using the "one size fits all" approach characterised by current design practice.
