摘要

This paper presents a method for identifying the type of cutting tool with the use of an artificial Neural Network. Characteristic statistics of the signals of ripping tool cutting force are the input data. The initial results of test-rig research are discussed for individual tools and an experiment planned for the whole ripping head is described. The results of numerical analyses conducted with the use of Neural Networks are presented.
