摘要

I have read the paper entitled "Multifactorial fuzzy approach to the penetrability classification of TBM in hard rock conditions", Tunneling and Underground Space Technology, 24 (2009) 500-505. I would like to congratulate the authors for providing valuable research and developing the model to the prediction of the TBM penetration rate using the fuzzy approach. However, there are a few uncertainties that related to the rock mass properties that affects on TBM performance and also the dataset utilized for the penetrability classification of TBM in the paper. The purpose of this comment is to clarify those suspicions by providing some contribution on the paper rather than discussion.
