Larry Chapman, vice president of Delfort's Tobacco Industry USA paper division, closes the final chapter of his career this fall. He leaves behind an industry he has served for 40 years, having worked closely with all the major cigarette companies. He looks back with respect and admiration for the close-knit tobacco community. "I have never encountered a more professional and dedicated group of people than those involved in our trade," he says. While Chapman wraps up a solid career focusing on the manufacturing and marketing of specialized paper for cigarettes, these days the focus is increasingly on e-cigarettes and high-technology tobacco-related products requiring high-quality specialized papers. "Vapor cigarettes and heat-not-burn products are changing the future of the cigarette industry," says Chapman, "but in my opinion there will always be a significant demand for traditional combustible cigarettes."
