摘要

Asia-Pacific forests are home to over 450 million poor people whose livelihoods depend on the use and availability of forest products and forests environmental services. There have been significant efforts in recent years to utilize the potential that forests and forestry have for effectively contributing to improved human well-rnbeing. However, for forestry to meet its full potential, sound policies must be developed and implemented on the basis of high-quality, up-to-date information from both strategic and field levels.
