The possibility of isolating the dodecahydro-closo-dodecaborate anion from aqueous solutions using chitosan in the form of chitosanium dodecahydro-claro-dodecaborate (C_6O_4H9NH_4)_2B_(12)H_(12) was studied. The optimum conditions for the precipitation of this scarcely soluble, readily filterable salt and its decomposition with alkaline reagents were found. The new technique was tested with real aqueous salt solutions for leaching the products of the high-temperature synthesis of the B_(12)H_(12)~(2-) anion. 10.1134/S0040579510040172
