Savio was founded in 1911 in Pordenone, a small industrial town in north eastern Italy. In those days there were several cotton spinning mills in and around Pordenone. Mr. Marcello Savio started manufacturing simple mechanical parts attending to the needs of the local spinners and thanks to his ingenuity and hard work created a world class player in textile machinery. Post spinning processing, especially winding, has been the "bread & butter" of Savio since its early days.
