Facebook Says No Profiles Created for Non-Facebook Users

Facebook, Inc., on June 29 submitted a 700-page response to the House Energy and Commerce Committee about its data collection and sharing practices, stating, among other things, that it has not yet finished its investigation of apps that had access to the data of friends of Face-book users before a 2014 change in Facebook's treatment of apps, and that Facebook does "not create profiles for non-Facebook users" who may visit public Facebook pages or have a device on which a Facebook app came preloaded.
