As assessment becomes increasingly important, librarians or departments that facilitate assessment activities have emerged. The Management Information Services (MIS) of the University of Virginia Library is such a department. The department's responsibilities are defined on the MIS website main screen. Cultivating a culture of assessment within the library, providing and analyzing data, assisting with surveys, and evaluating assessment projects are among the responsibilities.
