I choose to review this book because one day I was involved in a shooting incident. True, the gunman was outside the building and I was inside the library but there was only a wall of glass and about 100 feet between us! Nobody in the library was hurt that day but there could have been numerous injuries or fatalities. Since that day, I have been extremely interested in library security, reading all I can find on the topic. This book is one of the best books that I have found on this subject. Author Warren Graham is not a librarian but a former security manager for an uptown mall. He left there to work security for the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County (North Carolina) for 22 years, followed by another career giving library security presentations all over the United States.
