helium and oxygen isotopic evidence on exchange of waters between the western Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea

摘要

The composition and distribution of helium and oxygen isotopes in samples of seawater ob- tained at depths from surface to 300 m in the western Pacific Ocean (7°～26°N, 122°～130°E) were discussed in detail. The results show that both δ~18 O and δ~3 He isoline extend eastward in the Pacific side of the Bashi Channel, which may suggest that the South China Sea water intrudes into the western Pa- cific by the Bashi Channel.
