ISL's Monthly Container Port Traffic Index is based on monthly container traffic of the world's top container ports. In total, the ports reflected in the index handled approx. 319 mill TEU in 2008, equalling 61 per cent of world container traffic. The monthly TEU volumes per port are available since 2000. The different regions are represented by the following ports: Japan, S. Korea, Other Asia: Busan, Gwangyang, Incheon, Kaohsiung, Keelung, Kobe, Nagoya, Osaka, Taichung, Tokyo, Yokohama Aden, Bandar Abbas, Bangkok, Colombo, Dammam, Jeddah, Laem Chabang, Nhava Sheva, Singapore, Salalah.
