On May 16, 2008 the president of the russian federation D.A. MEDVEDEV signed the Federal law of the Russian Federation № 72-FZ , about the so-called Convention about < inhumane> weapon (CIW). A the basis of the Convention two basic usual rules of international humanitarian law are assumed, namely: 1. prohibition or limitation for the application of the weapon, which has non-selective action; 2. prohibition or limitation for the application of the weapon, capable of causing superfluous sufferings or excessive damages.
