On June 5, 2008 the RF President Dmitry Medvedev applied official visit to Germany. He conducted talks with the Chancellor of the FRG Angela Merkel, met the President of the FRG Horst Koehler, Vice Chancellor Minister of Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier, spoke before the representatives of the political, parliamentary and public circles of the FRG, laid wreaths to the monument to Soviet soldier-liberator in the Treptov-park. In this memorial complex the dust of 7200 warriors, who fell in the battle for Berlin in April-May, 1945, rests. Extracts from D.
