I first became interested in Ecotect while studying for a master's degree in environmental design at Cardiff University in 2002. Ecotect is building performance analysis software designed by architects for architects. While learning about simulation and analysis of building performance, I was involved in the early trials of the software, then being developed by Dr Andrew Marsh. It was particularly useful when I was investigating my thesis subject - the application of interseasonal heat storage in small buildings.
