Welcome to the new RIBA Journal Intelligence section, incorporating technical and practice coverage, readily identifiable by the bold blue scale to the right. As part of the seamless integration within the RIBA Journal of the RIBA Practice pages, you'll find that while the look has changed, the value of the content hasn't. You will still be kept informed of the latest developments of relevance to the profession, in a clearer, easier to read format. Our legal column remains, and we have a page devoted to planning issues, PI insurance and regulation. There is an opening spread detailing original architectural research and conference reports, and I have pleasure in introducing our new monthly columnist, Gillian Horn, director at Penoyre and Prasad, who will give us her own personal view of the joys and vagaries of practice in these troubled times.
