Architects more interested in images than words (and that might be most of us), and who might understandably have given up on Jeremy Till's prolixity, actually missed his rather important conclusion that as a profession we need to respond more readily to 'the much broader social field in which architecture is located' (RIBAJ January 2010).rnNot a lot new there of course, unless you happen to be an academic like Jeremy; for if anything holds our young architects back, it is the intellectual straitjacket of architectural education, from which they are released only once in practice.
