Best In Scale

Last month I described how I came by the plan and cut parts for a Sig 1:6 scale clipped wing Piper Cub. At the time I was keen to get started on a model that I had coveted for more than thirty years but after studying the drawing I decided that some changes would be necessary. The shape of the tail surfaces was not quite right and I wanted to make the wing in two pieces. The changes in the fin and rudder were noticed when I checked the shape against the photographs and scale drawing of the full size aircraft. The tailplane shape was also different so this was altered at the same time.
