The original Seidel redial engines were designed and built in Germany, the review engine detailed here is built under license by UMS Technologies in India. There are no less than 696 individual parts that make up this 70 cc, 7 cylinder four-stroke engine. The working and operational principles are very similar to that of full size radial engines, the main peculiarity being that a single carburettor feeding into the rear of the crankcase supplies the mixture to all seven cylinders. The design and nature of the engine produces a large amount of low speed torque within a quite low operating window with a maximum suggested speed of only 6000 revs per minute, peak performance being achieved at around 5300 revs per mint.
