As with most aspects of life, things never stand still for too long. Our hobby has seen a surge in new technologies over the last decade and this has really enhanced our enjoyment. Arguably the biggest advance has been battery technology. Little over 10 years ago electric powered aircraft were pretty much limited to powered gliders that ran on NiMH packs and floated about. With the introduction of Lithium Polymer technologies onto the market, electric aircraft have got bigger and better. With electric technology getting better than ever, building, flying and, most importantly, competing with a 40% electric aircraft is now very achievable. I would like to give you a short insight into our latest project and how it came about from initial thoughts to finally getting into the air.
