MAX-THRUST LIGHTNING

Designed by Mark Tilbury, the proprietor of Century UK, the Kent based R/C model distributor, the Max-Thrust 'Lightning' electric powered glider is the result of two years of design and testing. Mark says, "We knew what we wanted and set out with the basic criteria of a 1.5 metre wingspan using a three cell 2200 mAh pack, and able to get the model into your car easily. And we wanted it to perform. We have worked hard and feel that we have succeeded." Well having just returned after my first flying session with Mark's sleek, all-moulded glider design, I have to concur - this model is a great success. Century say that the Lightning offers high-speed stability both under power and also on the glide -tick that box. It is constructed from Max-Thrust's new super-smooth EPOFLEXY, with carbon spars in the wings and fuselage, giving a very strong airframe - tick that box too. The model features 9 gram high-speed servos throughout and even has a metal geared one on the all-moving tail to give a very precise and accurate elevator response - another big tick from me.
