Pregnancy as a Resistance

摘要

The author discuss four patients who were pregnant during their analyses and wanted to abort treatment. Each patient struggled with both conscious and unconscious fantasies of a destructive mother/analyst that could interfere with their well-being with envious retaliation and/or damage to the baby. The origins of these fantasies were unresolved preoedipal and oedipal conflicts and the patients' own destructive wishes.
