Growth of centimeter-sized C_60 single crystals

摘要

C_60 single crystals larger than one centimeter in size are grown with vapor method by nucleation con- trol and by a proper time-dependent temperature process which allows only one nucleus growing larger and larger. X-ray diffraction patterns exhibit the high quality of the sample. As an example of the applications of large single C_60 crystals, synchrotron radiation photoemission spectra are measured to investigate the fine structure of valence bands of C_60 crystals.
