Due to the barrier characteristic of uranium and radium in plants radium is shown to be the main biogeochemical indicator of uranium deposits. Uranium and non-radioactive elements - typical accessories of uranium mineralization (lead, molybdenum, arsenic, silver, zinc, cadmium, copper, bismuth, nickel, cobalt, selenium, vanadium) in nonbarrier bioobjects are considered as independent or additional biogeochemical indicators. The questions of theory, methodology and practice of biogeochemical exploration are given in details. It is shown that this method is useful to apply on the closed areas during the exploration of uranium ore bodies and their litho-, hydro- and atmochemical haloes buried under cover from 2 to 10-20 m thick and sometimes 30-100 m and more.
