Risks and challenges in the speedy execution of pipeline projects

Project management refers to the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to meet or exceednstakeholders’ expectations to complete a quality project on time and within budget. Completing a natural gas pipelinenproject on or ahead of schedule is challenging, and involves some risk and uncertainty. Currently, natural gas demandnin India outstrips the supply, making natural gas a highly sought-after commodity. This means that it is importantnthat natural gas pipeline projects are completed on or ahead of schedule. In order to do this, it is important that thesenrisks are properly assessed during project formulation and implementation. This article provides a description andninsight into the different types of challenges encountered in project execution, and the best practices adapted fornspeedy execution in an Indian context.
