Efficiency is in demand the world over. In particular, the oil and gas industry is being challenged to reduce carbonnemissions due to rising energy prices as well as the likely introduction of a price on carbon emissions. Severalnsolutions are possible to overcome these challenges, and today’s technologies and references in other industriesnprove their commercial viability. The following article presents different ways to enhance the efficiency of pipelinencompressor stations (PCSs) and examples will illustrate that significant fuel and carbon emission reductions can benachieved with technologies that exist on the market today.
