Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to define and describe Pareto analysis as a method forrnidentifying and addressing the factors that have the most impact in a digital library project's success.rnDesign/methodology/approach - Using theory and example, the author relates the use of Paretornanalysis to the successful completion of a digital library project.rnFindings - Pareto analysis is useful to project managers and project teams alike as a means forrnidentifying, prioritizing and addressing the factors that have the most impact in a digital library project. Itrnis particularly useful to a web redesign team as a mechanism for prioritizing changes and improvementsrnthat need to be made to a web site.rnOriginality/value - This paper fills a gap in the digital library project management literature byrnproviding an overview of a useful tool in identifying and prioritizing the steps and factors in a projectrnthat most contribute to its success.
