The March progress report from the Point Lepreau Refurbishment Project describes the latest milestone that has been reached: the polishing of all 760 calandria tubesheet bores. This should be the last major repair operation to be carried out at Point Lepreau, a 635-MWe CANDU 6 reactor, before the installation of new fuel channels—the main task of Stage 2 of the project—is completed by Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL), the project's general contractor for plant owner NB Power.
