An error analysis of dimensionless confinement scaling experiments

A possible explanation for the discrepancies observed in the scaling of confinement with respect to the dimensionless variables β, v~* and ρ~* is presented. It is shown that errors in the stored energy and input power have a substantial effect on the confinement scaling, when the scans in the dimensionless variables are modest. This is mainly due to mismatches in the non scanned parameters.
