P.T. Multi Spunindo Jaya was established in 1997 as the first spunbond nonwovens manufacturer in Indonesia. Its plant is located in the country's second largest city, Surabaya, in East Java Province, and is ISO 9001-2000 certified. Commercial production began in 1999 and consisted of 1 spinning beam with a capacity of 3,500 tons per year. Three years later a double spinning beam operation was added that brought capacity to 7,200 tons per year.
